Billing and browser credit

Pay as you go

PAYG has no monthly platform subscription. Add purchased funds when you need phone calls, SMS, phone numbers, or more browser-testing usage. A wallet top-up is a one-time purchase, not a recurring plan subscription.

Core agents, supported provider choices, tools, knowledge bases, API, MCP, webhooks, and standard call evidence do not require a paid platform plan. Usage is still metered. Phone-number rental and setup charges are separate; an imported number's carrier may bill you directly.

PAYG's standard workspace allowance is 10 billed phone numbers and 10 simultaneous live calls, shared across projects and agents. Number rental and setup are charged separately; this is permission to hold up to ten paid numbers, not ten free numbers. Carrier-billed imports and zero-rental numbers do not consume the billed-number allowance. Owning more numbers does not multiply the concurrent-call allowance.

For more than 10 billed numbers or 10 simultaneous calls, contact us about Scale. An OpenPhonex operator can set a workspace's concurrent-call limit below or above the plan allowance. A value of 0 resets that control to the plan default; it does not disable calls. Choosing or changing a use-case profile does not change this concurrency control. Other workspace-specific risk limits or agreed overrides can change the effective allowance, and active historical subscriptions retain their recorded plan capacity. Available funds, carrier capacity, and other admission checks still apply. This allowance is not a guarantee of ten connected calls.

Higher capacity must be agreed and validated for your workload; do not assume a higher limit from a pricing label. Check your workspace's current limits before launching a batch of calls.

Billed-number allowance

Open Phone numbers or Billing to see your workspace's billed-number allowance: used, limit, and remaining. This is workspace-wide across projects, not just the numbers on the current page. Only numbers with an OpenPhonex monthly rental count; carrier-billed imports and zero-rental numbers do not. Rental and setup charges are separate from the allowance.

Checkout displays the allowance before confirmation and disables confirmation for an additional billed number when the limit is reached. Use Request more capacity to contact us. Adding wallet funds does not increase the number limit. If the allowance is unavailable, refresh before ordering a billed number.

The server also checks capacity before starting a new managed carrier purchase or reserving its payment. The display is a current count, not a capacity reservation while you browse. Other verification and availability checks still apply. Previously purchased orders continue through reconciliation rather than being purchased again.

Your browser-testing credit

An eligible customer receives a one-time USD $5 welcome credit when signing into the workspace. For a EUR wallet, the grant is converted using the rate recorded at grant time. The credit has no expiry and is limited to one grant per customer identity and per workspace. Creating another workspace or inviting another member does not replenish an already claimed grant.

Use it from Agents → select an agent → browser test. Configure a supported STT, LLM, and TTS stack first. Each authenticated browser session is capped at 180 seconds and uses the selected components' metered prices. This is a credit balance, not a promise of a fixed number of free minutes or unlimited tests.

Browser sessions reserve funds before starting. Unused reserved funds are released when the session settles. Once browser credit is exhausted, further tests require purchased funds. A negative purchased balance must be resolved; browser credit does not cancel a debt.

Reading your balance and costs

The workspace wallet balance shows purchased funds available for phone usage. Billing shows browser credit separately. A wallet showing $0 purchased funds can therefore still have browser-testing credit available.

For API and MCP clients, read the account overview using account:read: GET /v1/account/overview or the account_overview MCP tool. The wallet separates available_minor (purchased), promotional_available_minor (browser credit), and total_available_minor (both). Amounts are in the wallet currency's minor units. Do not treat the combined total as a PSTN spending balance.

Call charges depend on the selected components and their actual usage, not a flat all-inclusive price per minute. Inspect the call's cost evidence for the components used. BYOK provider charges follow that component's billing mode; bringing a provider key does not make unrelated platform or carrier usage free. New calls use their own pricing snapshot. Existing call prices and historical wallet entries are not rewritten when the catalog changes.

Existing subscription records

Developer, Launch, and Growth monthly/yearly subscriptions are no longer sold. If your account already has a subscription record, Billing retains its status and cancellation controls. Switching the public offer to PAYG does not itself cancel a Stripe subscription or refund an earlier payment. Check Billing before assuming an existing recurring charge has stopped.
